Dear Friends,
Thank you for your response to our recent newsletter on the Sqaw Karen tribe and their desperate need for Bibles. Many people have expressed how shocked they were to learn that there are Christians in the world today who have been completely cut off from Bibles for more than 50 years!
This week we would like to share a video our co-workers put together of one of the recent Sqaw Karen Bible distributions in Myanmar (Burma). We hope the 9-minute video will bless and encourage you as you see some of our precious brothers and sisters celebrate as they receive God's Word for the first time.
Finally, for those who want to know more about the Karen people:
Some have written to say how surprised they are by the information we shared in our newsletter. They were unaware of the Karen people or that they have been engaged in the world's longest active war, stretching back more than 70 years.
For those who wish to learn more about the wonderful Karen people, their resilience, and their deep faith in the Lord, we thought about what other resources we could share, and although there are now many videos and articles available, it's hard for us to go past a video made in 2006 by a group of four college-age friends from San Diego, California, who spent their summer vacation in Southeast Asia documenting the plight of the Karen people.
This authentic video encapsulates the struggles and beauty of the Karen people, who continue to display the joy of the Lord in their lives despite their long and painful decades of suffering.
WARNING: Although most of the video is fine, certain parts contain the kind of horrible images you would expect to see in a genocidal war zone. Please be aware, especially if there are children nearby when you watch. The video can be viewed here:

Our role at Asia Harvest is to help provide thousands of Sqaw Karen Bibles to these desperately needy people, many of whom have been praying for decades for just one copy of God's Word. Please continue to pray for the Karen, and we invite you to join us by supporting our Asia Bible Fund. Each Bible costs just $2.70 to print and deliver.
May God bless you as together we serve the Church in Asia.
