Thank you for praying for the Church in China at this time, especially for the believers at the epicentre of the virus in Hubei Province. We would like to share a very precious video with you of Christians risking their lives by preaching the Gospel and distributing face masks on the streets of Wuhan. God's people have risen up during this crisis. Please pray for them, and ask God to glorify His Name in this disaster by granting eternal life to millions of desperate people in Hubei.
Unfortunately, even at a time such as this, the Chinese Communist Party cannot put aside their anti-Christian ideology, and we have been informed that some of the teams of believers who were preaching on the streets have been arrested and their supplies confiscated.
We are now in a position to help Chinese believers living in the area through a trustworthy local contact. He wrote that their greatest need is for "medical equipment, masks, goggles, gloves, and protective coverings," which they have managed to source. Many Christians in their area have been infected and quarantined.
If you would like to help with this need, please add a note "China relief" when you give via credit or debit card or PayPal to our "Persecution & Relief Fund" or to "where needed most". As with all our projects—as proven by our audited financial statements that are posted on our website—we guarantee that every dollar received will go directly to believers in the infected area.
Selected links about the Coronavirus and the Church in Hubei Province:
There are hundreds of interesting articles being published about the current situation in China, but we would like to share just a few of the more interesting links here.
* From the time the virus first broke in Wuhan, Chinese believers have told us they think the true number of infections and deaths is much higher than what is officially reported. People in China have almost zero confidence in things the Communist Party says. The government's case was not helped by this apparent slip-up in early February, where the true extent of the virus appears to have been inadvertently shared online.
* China has attempted to silence many reports of the virus, and people who have spoken out were threatened by the government and are now missing.
* There has been a massive outpouring of sympathy in China for the doctors and nurses who are heroically trying to save lives, especially after the death of 34-year-old doctor Li Wenliang.
* As the Coronavirus worsens, the crisis poses a threat to Communist Party rule, as millions of people grow frustrated and angry. The Party has shown over 70 years of rule that they will do anything to stay in power. Please pray for God's will to be done and that "the government shall be upon His shoulders" (Isaiah 9:6).
God bless the people of Wuhan and China!
